ADU Concepts designs, permits, and builds accessory dwelling units for single-family homeowners and multifamily property owners across Los Angeles, Ventura, and Orange counties. We're a licensed California general contractor based in Tarzana, and our own crews are the ones on your site.

ADU Concepts is built on decades of combined construction experience and more than 500 ADU and construction projects across Los Angeles. We're a licensed California general contractor based in Tarzana, operating under CSLB #1018294 with both B General Building and A General Engineering classifications, and the TESH Group's decades of construction experience behind the crews on your site today.
We're not a manufacturer trying to sell you a box. We're a contractor: we evaluate your property, design a layout that fits it, manage your permit with your specific city, and build it ourselves. When a project uses our pre-engineered, panelized steel system, that system is engineered by our sister company, LyteMods. ADU Concepts is a LyteMods Authorized Dealer and Certified Installer, but the crew on your site, from foundation to final walkthrough, works for ADU Concepts.

Who we build for

Most of our clients fall into one of two groups, and we've built our process around both of them.
Single-family
Homeowners
A backyard ADU, a garage conversion, or a Junior ADU built inside your existing house. Owners come to us for rental income, a place for aging parents or adult kids, or simply more usable space on a lot they already own.
Multifamily
Owners, investors, and developers
Densification is a flagship strength for us, not an afterthought. We add detached ADUs to existing apartment lots, convert non-livable interior space, garages, storage rooms, basements, into new units, and reconfigure carports and parking areas, often stacking more than one approach on the same property.
How the work gets done
One contractor, start to finish.
A lot of companies in this space sell you a product, then hand you off to someone else for the hard parts. That's not how we work.
Design
We evaluate your lot, your city's rules, and your goals, then design a layout that fits: a catalog model adjusted to your site, or something built from scratch.
Permitting
Our team manages submittals, plan check, and corrections with your specific city, so you're not the one chasing approvals.
Engineered panels
For catalog layouts, the panelized light-gauge steel wall systems are engineered by our sister company, LyteMods.
Construction
Our own crews handle construction on your property, from foundation through final inspection.

One TESH Group. A few different specialists.
ADU Concepts is one of several TESH Group operating companies, alongside LyteMods, Cal Steel Modular, NAXA Design, and Cal Retrofit. LyteMods engineers the panelized, light-gauge steel wall systems used in our ADU catalog, and Cal Steel Modular's production capacity covers the larger-scale volumetric construction used on bigger multifamily projects.
We draw on that shared expertise when a project calls for it. ADU Concepts designs, permits, and builds every job under our own license, with our own crews on your site.
